Anne Bogaerts was a 2012 visiting scholar at the Research and Evaluation Center. She conducted a comparative study (U.S. / Netherlands) on governmental responses to asbestos removal when private firms fail to comply with workplace safety regulations, and the extent to which such infractions are pursued as regulatory or criminal matters. Anne is from the Netherlands where she is a researcher with the Labour Inspectorate of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment in The Hague. She holds an MSc and BSc degree in criminology from the University of Leiden, as well as an MSc in public administration from the VU University of Amsterdam.

Lily Khadjavi is a faculty member in the department of mathematics at Loyola Marymount University and a 2012-2013 visiting scholar with the Research and Evaluation Center. Her research interests range from algebraic number theory to the use of statistics in social science and her current project, analyzing LAPD traffic stop data and focusing on the issue of racial profiling. Lily is a graduate of Harvard University and she earned the Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
