About the Research and Evaluation Center

The Research and Evaluation (R&E) Center is an applied research organization and part of the Research Consortium of John Jay College. Established in 1975, the Center provides members of the academic community of John Jay College with opportunities to respond to the research needs of justice practitioners in New York City, New York State, and the nation.

The director of the Center is Dr. Jeffrey A. Butts. As part of the Research Consortium, the Center operates under the supervision of the Office for the Advancement of Research (OAR), headed by the interim Associate Provost and Dean of Research at John Jay College, Dr. Anthony Carpi.
