The Research and Evaluation (R&E) Center is an applied research organization and part of the Research Consortium of John Jay College. We provide members of the academic community with opportunities to respond to the research needs of justice practitioners in New York City, New York State, and the nation. Projects at the R&E Center involve direct assistance to justice-related agencies, analyses of innovative strategies to prevent and reduce crime, and evaluations of interventions at the individual and community level. The director of the Center is Jeffrey A. Butts. The Research Consortium operates under the supervision of the Office for the Advancement of Research (OAR), headed by the interim Associate Provost and Dean of Research, Anthony Carpi.
