Please join us for a seminar with Arun Kundnani on the topic of “Radicalization: The journey of a concept.”

Dr. Kundnani has written widely on race, culture, and counter-terrorism. He is the author of Spooked: how not to prevent violent extremism (Institute of Race Relations, 2009) and The End of Tolerance: racism in 21st century Britain (Pluto Press, 2007). Currently teaching at John Jay College, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism, the Hague, in 2012. He was formerly a fellow at the Open Society Foundations, and editor of the journal Race & Class. His articles have appeared in the journals Security and Human Rights, European Journal of Cultural Studies, Race & Class, and Critical Muslim. He has also written for the Guardian, the Nation, and CNN.com. His next book The Muslims are Coming! Islamophobia, extremism, and the domestic War on Terror will be published by Verso Books later this year.
