The Center for Crime Prevention and Control was established in February 2005 with the mission of developing effective strategies

to address key public safety problems;
to work in partnership with law enforcement, community, government, nonprofit, and other key stakeholders;
to draw together committed scholars and practitioners;
and to develop the scholarly, institutional, and practical bodies of knowledge that can inform and support ambitious, intellectually serious applied work.
